Updated on 24 June 2025
If your coach uses the INSAIT JOY TEAM app to manage your training and performance data, you can easily link your personal INSAIT JOY account to their team. This allows your coach to view your performance metrics in a team context and helps you track your progress within your squad.
You will need a Team Invitation Code provided by your coach.
Joining Via the INSAIT JOY App (Recommended for Players):
This is the most common and recommended method for players to join a team. The following steps apply to INSAIT JOY App V5.0.0 and above:
- Access Team Section: Open the INSAIT JOY app on your mobile device. Navigate to the 'Me' section (located in the bottom navigation bar).
- Initiate Join Team: Tap on 'Team', then look for and tap the '+ (plus) button located in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select "Join Team": From the options that appear, select 'Join Team'.

Updated on 24 June 2025
We understand that not all players may have access to a personal mobile phone for the INSAIT JOY app. In such cases, the INSAIT JOY TEAM app offers a practical solution to include these players in your team's tracking:
Creating a Virtual Player
- How To: On the home page of your INSAIT JOY TEAM app, you can create a virtual player by tapping the 'Add Player' button. This allows you to log and manage performance data for players who don't have their own INSAIT JOY accounts.
Important Consideration: Data Access Limitations
It is crucial to understand the implications of using a virtual player:
- No Direct Player Access: A virtual player is not linked to any individual INSAIT JOY player account. This means the player's performance data will be stored exclusively within your coach account.
- Data Not Shareable with Player/Parents: The data recorded for a virtual player will not be accessible to the player or their parents via the standard INSAIT JOY app, even if that player later creates an INSAIT JOY account. The data remains tied solely to your coach account's records for that virtual player.

Assigning smart shin guards to your players is a crucial Coach-led step in linking their on-field performance data directly to their profiles within your team. This allows for accurate individual and team-level analysis.
1. Preparation: Ensure Your Devices Are Ready:
- Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
- Power On Trackers: Ensure all INSAIT JOY soccer player trackers (the shin guard pairs) you intend to assign are powered on and placed near your phone.
2. Assigning Devices to Players:
You have two convenient methods to assign shin guards:
Individual Assignment:
- Go to the 'Players' section (found on the home page of the INSAIT JOY Team app).
- Select the specific player you wish to assign a device to.
- Look for an option to 'Assign Device'. You will then be prompted to select an available pair of smart shin guards to link to that player.
Bulk Assignment:
- From the 'Players' section, look for a 'Bulk Assign' option.
- This feature allows you to simultaneously pair multiple players with several available devices at once, saving time for large teams. Follow the on-screen prompts to select players and then select the corresponding shin guard sets.
3. Unassigning Devices from Players:
When a device needs to be unlinked from a player (e.g., for rotation, return, or re-assignment), you also have options:
Individual Unassignment:
- Go to the 'Players' section and select the player from whom you wish to unassign a device.
- Find the paired device listed under their profile and tap 'Unpair' next to it.
Bulk Unassignment:
- Look for a 'Bulk Unassign' option in the 'Players' section.
- This allows you to quickly unpair multiple devices from various players simultaneously.
Important Notes on Device Assignment Flexibility:
- Cross-Team Assignment: A single pair of smart shin guards can be paired with different players across multiple teams within your INSAIT JOY Team app. This is ideal if you manage different age groups or squads sharing equipment.
- Reassigning to Another Team: To assign the same pair of player tracking devices to players in a different team you manage, simply switch to the new team's profile in the app and then follow the assignment steps (Steps 1-3) within that team's context.

The "Coach-Led" synchronization mode allows you, as a coach, to centrally manage the data collection for all assigned INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards directly through your INSAIT JOY Team app. This ensures all session data is captured efficiently and consistently, providing a unified view of your team's performance.
1. Prepare Your Devices for Synchronization:
- Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
- Power On Trackers: Ensure all INSAIT JOY soccer player trackers (the L and R modules inside the shin guards) that participated in the session are powered on and placed near your phone. The app needs to discover them for data transfer.
2. Initiate Data Synchronization:
- Enter the Event: Open the INSAIT JOY Team app and navigate to the specific ongoing team Event for which you want to sync data. Ensure the event's date and time correspond to the session just completed.
- Tap Sync Team Data: On the event screen, tap the 'Sync Team Data' button.
- Automatic Connection & Sync: The INSAIT JOY Team app will automatically connect to all nearby powered-on trackers that were assigned to players in that event. Data will then begin to synchronize from the trackers to the app.
- Note: The synchronization process may take a few moments, especially if there's a lot of data or many trackers. Please keep your phone and trackers close and the app open during this time.
3. Synchronization Completion & Data Access:
- Trackers Power Off: Once the data synchronization is successfully completed for all trackers, they will automatically power off. This indicates that their data has been safely transferred.
- Player & Parent Access: After successful synchronization, players and their parents (if they have joined the team through their own INSAIT JOY accounts) will be able to view their individual performance statistics for that session within their respective INSAIT JOY app.
Updated on 24 June 2025
Encountering sync issues or an unresponsive app during data transfer can be frustrating, especially after a session. These problems are often resolvable with a few common troubleshooting steps.
Common Solutions for Sync Failures
1. Retry Synchronization for Remaining Trackers:
- Scenario: Some, but not all, smart shin guards failed to sync.
- Action: Keep the unsynced trackers powered on. Tap 'Sync Team Data' again. The app will automatically search for and attempt to sync with any remaining soccer player trackers that haven't yet transferred their data. Repeat this process if necessary until all trackers are successfully synced.
2. Address Trackers That Powered Off:
- Scenario: During a long synchronization process (especially for larger squads), some Right trackers might power off due to inactivity before their data is fully transferred.
- Action: If a Right tracker powers off prematurely, wake it up by shaking it and then retry the sync process by tapping 'Sync Team Data' in the app again.
3. Check for Low Battery Levels:
- Scenario: Trackers with very low battery levels may struggle to maintain a stable connection or complete data transfer.
- Action: If you suspect low battery, recharge the devices fully before attempting synchronization again. A low battery is a common cause of sync failures.
4. Restart the App if Unresponsive:
- Scenario: The INSAIT JOY Team app itself becomes unresponsive or freezes during synchronization.
- Action: Fully close the app (force quit it from your phone's recent apps list) and then restart it. Once the app has relaunched, attempt the synchronization process again from the ongoing event.
5. Ensure Strong Bluetooth Connection:
- Scenario: Intermittent or weak Bluetooth connection.
- Action: Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is on, and keep your phone and the trackers in very close proximity (within a few feet/meters) throughout the entire sync process. Avoid placing obstacles between them.

PLAYER-LED MODE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
Managing devices and syncing stats using the Player-Led mode.
The "Player-Led" mode allows you to take ownership of your performance data. Once you've completed a session, you can synchronize the data from your INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards to your personal INSAIT JOY app and then submit it to an event created by your coach. This ensures your stats contribute to your team's overall analysis.
Here’s how to submit your data:
1. First, Sync Your Data to Your INSAIT JOY App:
Before you can submit data to your coach, you must first synchronize the performance data from your smart shin guards to your own INSAIT JOY app.
- Process: After your training session or match, open your INSAIT JOY app. Ensure your smart shin guards are powered on and nearby. The app will guide you to sync your session stats directly from your trackers to your personal account. (If you need detailed steps on syncing, please refer to our guide).
2. Submit Your Data to a Team Event:
Once your data is synced to your personal INSAIT JOY app, you can submit it to an ongoing team event:
Option A: Via the 'Submit' Button:
- From your session report, tap the 'Submit' button at the end of your report.
- You will then see a list of ongoing Events created by your coach. Select the appropriate event for the session you just completed.
Option B: Via the 'Event' Section:
- Alternatively, you can navigate directly to the 'Event' section within your INSAIT JOY app.
- Browse through the events listed and choose the ongoing Event that corresponds to your recent session. There will be a 'Submit' option within that event's details.
- After selecting the event and confirming submission, your performance data for that session will be sent to your coach's INSAIT JOY TEAM app for review and analysis. Ensure the event you select matches the session you are submitting data for!
Updated on 24 June 2025
If you're experiencing difficulty submitting your performance data to an event in the INSAIT JOY app (e.g., the event isn't visible, is marked as finished, or you receive an error), it's usually due to one of a few common reasons. Follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Confirm Your Team Membership:
- Issue: You haven't successfully joined your coach's team in the INSAIT JOY app, or there was an issue with your team join process.
- Action: Navigate to the 'Me' section in your INSAIT JOY app, then tap 'Team'. Verify that you are listed as a member of your coach's team. If you're not listed, or if there's an error, re-attempt to join the team using the invitation code provided by your coach.
2. Verify the Team Invitation Code:
- Issue: You might have inadvertently joined an incorrect or inactive team, or entered an incorrect invitation code previously.
- Action: Double-check with your coach to ensure you have the exact and most current team invitation code. If you previously joined with a wrong code, you may need to rejoin with the correct one.
3. Confirm the Event's Status and Existence:
- Issue: The event either hasn't been properly created by your coach for your team, or it has already ended/been marked as finished. Players can only submit data to ongoing events.
- Action: Contact your coach directly to confirm the following: a) That an event was properly created in the INSAIT JOY TEAM app for your specific session. b) That the event is marked as "ongoing" or active for the current date/time. c) That you are assigned to the correct team for that event.
4. Ensure Correct Date and Timely Submission:
- Issue: You are attempting to submit data for a session that falls outside the event's scheduled date and time, or you are trying to submit old, previously recorded stats.
- Action: Players can only submit performance data to an event that is active and corresponds to the date/time the session took place. Synchronize your stats immediately after your session with your personal INSAIT JOY app. Then, submit your data to the relevant event promptly and within its scheduled timeframe. You generally cannot submit data recorded on a past date to a current or future event.
If the Issue Persists:
If you have tried all the above steps and are still unable to submit your data, please contact our customer support team for further assistance. Provide them with details about your issue, your account email, the team name, and the event name you are trying to submit to.

No, as a coach, there's no need to manually share events with your players. The INSAIT JOY system is designed for seamless data flow and communication once your team is set up correctly.
- Automatic Visibility: If your players have successfully joined your team in their INSAIT JOY app (using the unique team invitation code you provided), they will automatically see the events you create in the INSAIT JOY TEAM app. These events will appear in their personal INSAIT JOY app's 'Event' section.
- Streamlined Workflow: This automatic visibility ensures that players are always aware of upcoming sessions and matches you've scheduled, and they can then submit their performance data directly to these events in Player-Led mode.
This integration streamlines your team management and keeps everyone aligned on scheduled activities.
